Prenatal testing gives an opportunity to assess the condition of the fetus at the very early stage of its development. Most often, it allows parents to get peace and knowledge that the baby is developing properly. There are three types of prenatal tests:
Screening (non-invasive) based on ultrasound, which is accompanied by biochemical tests (PAPP-A, β-hCG).
Diagnostic (invasive) tests that are based on genetic analysis of fetal material (including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling-CVS).
Fetal DNA testing from the maternal blood, such as the SANCO Test, which combines the benefits of invasive diagnostics and non-invasive tests. Taking venous blood is safe for the fetus, and the test is very effective in detecting birth defects of the fetus.
